• Kinsellas Road East

  • As part of the Department of Transport and Main Road’s Moreton Bay Rail Link project, AllenCon was engaged as a specialist subcontractor to the principal contractor (McIlwain Civil) to undertake the construction of a three-span road-over-rail bridge and pedestrian path.

The high profile project was delivered as the first package on the future rail ink project and saw AllenCon undertake all formwork, reinforcing and concrete requirements for the bridge which included:

    • Sub-structure pilecaps with a concrete volume of 340m3
    • Abutments with 4.5m high wingwalls
    • Two blade piers measuring 15m wide x 10m high

AllenCon also provided site cranage and supervision of the placement of 21 x 1,525mm deep Super-Tee girders.

    Client: McIlwain | Value: $1M

  • The super-structure works extended from deck pours, placement of PC parapets and facing pours, to the installation of both underslung deck drainage pipework and anti-throw screens.

As a result of AllenCon’s extensive bridge building experience and successful track record in delivering road over rail structures, the company was responsible for the design of all formwork and it’s certification on this project.

To ensure seamless integration with the principal contractor’s program, AllenCon was involved in all aspects of project staging including the planning of temporary earthworks and hardstands.  This collaboration resulted in streamlining the employment of machinery across the work site to ensure the most efficient use of site plant.
