The construction of a pedestrian and cycle pathway along Samford Road and for the decommissioning of Wahminda Pond, Ferny Hills. After public objection, the Wahminda Pond was retained, and the pathway redesigned to divert around the pond.
Works included but were not limited to:
New 3.0m wide concrete pathway
Environmentally sensitive tree clearing
Boardwalks/suspended slabs - including mini-piles and concrete canvas slope protection
Earthworks - including Environmental Permits and strict Erosion & Sediment Control Measures
Roadworks - including QTMR & QPS Road Permits for Traffic Management changes on Samford Road
Stormwater pipes and drainage
Guardrails and fencing
Landscaping and associated works (including approx. 6000 plants and over 100 quantity of 100L trees)
Relocation of Playground including Rubber Softfall & Bark Softfall.
